Custom tracking domain
A custom tracking domain is your own domain (or subdomain, like go.yourbrand.com) used for tracking links and ad serving instead of the platform's shared default domain. Clicks resolve to the same tracking infrastructure — but under a name you control.
Why it matters
Shared platform domains accumulate the reputation of everyone using them: one bad actor and the domain lands on blocklists, antivirus warnings, or messenger link filters — taking your campaigns down with it. A custom domain isolates your reputation and keeps links branded, which matters for email deliverability, social platform review, and partner trust.
Setup is usually a CNAME record pointing at the platform plus automatic TLS issuance. Serious operators keep several tracking domains and rotate per traffic source, so a single domain burn never stops the whole operation.
